Embedded Software Engineer (Paris Office)

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in C and C++ to join our team based in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing embedded innovative software for digital TV set-top boxes (STBs). Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Software Development: Design, implement, and maintain embedded software for TV set-top boxes using C and C++.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with third parties engineers to integrate software with embedded systems and ensure seamless functionality.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize code for speed, memory usage, and power efficiency in resource-constrained environments.
  • Debugging and Testing: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects using debugging tools and methodologies.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (QA, product management, hardware) to deliver high-quality products on time.

Skills Requirements

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in C and C++ (mandatory). Knowledge of Assembly, or scripting languages is a plus.
  • Embedded Systems: Hands-on experience with Linux, RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems), Linux kernel, or proprietary embedded OS.
  • Debugging Tools: Experience with JTAG and GDB.
  • Version Control: Proficiency with Git.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and communication skills.

Profile and experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in TV set-top boxes, digital media, or consumer electronics,
  • Good writing, presentation and communication skills, customer facing abilities
  • Languages: English is mandatory. Additional European language is an advantage.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the development and launch of a new
line of products focused on Broadband over Coax (MoCA Access), Hospitality Headends,
Broadband Customer Premises Equipment (CPEs), Ethernet/CAT and Fiber cables. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in product management within the broadcast or
telecommunications industry, with a proven track record of bringing innovative products to
market.
 

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Roadmap
  • Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for MoCA Access, Hospitality Headends, Broadband CPEs, Ethernet/CAT and Fiber cables.
  • Identify market opportunities, trends, and customer needs to drive product innovation and differentiation.
Product Development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to define product requirements and ensure timely delivery.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch and post-launch evaluation.
Market Analysis
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to gather feedback and ensure product alignment with market needs.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the technical team and business units to ensure clear communication and alignment on product goals.
Go-to-Market Strategy
  • Develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies, including pricing, positioning, and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling product messaging and sales collateral.
Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor product performance and customer satisfaction, making data-driven decisions to optimize product offerings.
  • Conduct regular product reviews & quality controls (i.e testing of supplier samples, field tests, etc.)
  • Iterate on features and functionalities based on feedback and performance metrics.
Pre- and post-sales support
  •  Prepare and file spec sheets, customer presentations, exhibitions and internal and external training.
  • Drafting of processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager in the broadcast, telecommunications, or a related industry.
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of broadband technologies, including MoCA, CPEs, and headend systems.
  • A comprehensive understanding of wired networking standards and Ethernet cable technologies from CAT5e through CAT7a. Well-versed in their technical specifications, performance and deployment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management tools and methodologies.

Preferred Skills
  •  Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  •  Experience with product management software tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Asana).
  •  Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to broadband and telecommunications.

Senior web application software engineer

Position description:
Owns the entire software development process for the company’s airscreen Live project. Maintain, improve, develop and test new code for the product. You will be part of the software team and will be working on all aspects of the software development activities including software requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, integration and releases. You will be responsible for making the choices for applicable software design technologies, development and testing tools as well as deployment tools. You will take part in scoping new releases and contribute to UI/UX design and implementation, prepare POC and demo setups for customers and partners and provide technical expertise on the product to other internal teams where needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient in C/C++/C#
  • Proficient in Javascript/CSS/HTML
  • Knowledge of NuxtJS/VueJS or another JavaScript framework e.g. React, AngularJS
  • Familiar with cloud servers, containers (Docker), container orchestration and CI/CD tools
