Delivering Non-Linear OTT Content Over Broadcast Networks
Q-Fast™ is a bandwidth-efficient solution that enables operators to deliver non-linear content over any multicast network, including Satellite, Terrestrial, or Cable, whether they be based on legacy networks (MPEG-TS) or the newer DVB-NIP standard. The Q-Fast™ solution is able to efficiently push and distribute files such as video, books, newspapers, games, and music and any other type of files.
At the head-end, a Q-Fast™ server ingests files as specified by the operator. These files, along with their metadata, are then transmitted as a multicast signal over the designated broadcast network.
On the receiver side, the M-Store™ agent stores the files locally, using available memory (hard disk, SD card, RAM, or USB key). The stored content is made accessible through an API, allowing authorized smart devices, PCs, or tablets to retrieve it via the receiver’s Wi-Fi network. Additionally, Smart TVs and standard televisions can access the content through an HDMI connection.
Q-Fast™ supports multiple features that enhance the user experience, including:
- content filtering and targeting,
- catch-up TV, and replays.
- Compatibility with encryption systems, from DVB-CSA type conditional access to DRM.
These functionalities provide operators with flexible options for content distribution and monetization.
Q-Fast™ ensures scalable, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of non-linear content over traditional broadcast networks, making premium on-demand content easily accessible to users.
